Race this exceptionally bred filly by HELLBENT out of More Than Ready mare, TENDER MERCIES.

We purchased this filly on day two of the Inglis Classic Sale in Sydney. This filly is out of a very well related More Than Ready mare, being a sister to More Joyous. She hails from a family drenched in Black Type and she is bred to get over a bit of ground. Appears to be a nice ‘Oaks prospect’.

Hellbent is an Australian-bred stallion by the prolific sire I Am Invincible out of Volkaspray, celebrated for both his racing success and his impact at stud. A powerful sprinter known for his explosive turn of foot, he secured seven career wins and more than $900,000 in prizemoney, highlighted by his Group 1 victory in the 2018 William Reid Stakes, run in near‑record time. He also placed in several elite sprint races, including a second in the 2017 William Reid Stakes and a third in the Oakleigh Plate. As a stallion, Hellbent has become a Group 1‑producing sire, crowned Champion Third Season Sire, with progeny such as Magic Time and Benedetta achieving top‑level success and yearlings selling for up to $500,000.

This filly will be trained by Peter Snowden who is one of Australia’s most accomplished thoroughbred trainers, renowned for his precision, horsemanship, and sustained success at the elite level. After taking over as head trainer for Darley Australia in 2007, he produced 28 Group 1 wins for the global powerhouse, including major victories with stars like Sepoy and Forensics. He later formed Snowden Racing with his son Paul in 2014, where the stable has since surpassed 2,500 winners, more than 400 stakes winners, and 49 Group 1 victories from 33 individual horses, amassing over $200 million in prizemoney. His achievements include a Sydney Trainers’ Premiership and a reputation for developing top juveniles and sprinters, cementing him as one of the most respected figures in modern Australian racing.

Sale Comments: She is a neat, good walking filly with a lovely demeanour. She is not a 2YO type but will grow into a very nice 3YO prospect as her pedigree suggests. She was a good find at the sale and represents excellent value. Nice broodmare prospect after racing!

Current Status: Will be having a short break after the sale before being broken in.
