4YO gelding Test Of War added another win to his record when saluting in the last at Hawkesbury on Thursday over 1500m.

Given a ‘peach’ of a ride by Tommy Berry, Test Of War took took up the running and appeared to be travelling comfortably during the early and middle stages of the race.

Turning into the final straight, Test Of War was under siege as a wall of horses tried to get past him. However, the son of Testa Rossa was just to tough leading pillar to post, eventually winning by half a length.

“He did all the work and they had their chance, but he was too strong”, said Tommy Berry. “This horse has upside. It was a good win”.

“He raced too keenly over the 1600m last start and never gave himself a chance to run out the trip”, said Gary Portelli. “So we sent him to the water walker for a couple of weeks after last start, took off the blinkers and came back to the 1500m. It was a good, tough win”.

Thursday’s win takes his record to 3 wins and 2 placings from only 11 starts. Test Of War has already won $70,000 in prizemoney. He continues to improve with every preparation and there are more wins in store for Test Of War.

Elite Thoroughbreds purchased Test Of War from the Inglis Classic sale for just $50,000.
