Capital Reign was yet again asked to step up in grade as he had his 5th career start in the $50k Hurricane Handicap.

He jumped well and led as he has done at his other starts. Although there were tougher, more seasoned sprinters that made up the numbers, they were no match for the speedy 3YO by Capitalist as he did it at both ends yet again to make it 3 wins in a row.

“He still looks like a yearling”, said Portelli. “I think we are going see a stronger horse next preparation. He has done a great job to work through the grades and bank his owners some prizemoney in the process. We will get him home, see how he pulls up and go from there”.

Capital Reign was purchased by Elite Thoroughbreds for just $30k at the 2020 Inglis Classic sale. His record currently stands at 5 starts, for 4 wins and a placing. He has banked almost $92k for his owners to date.
