Talented mare Sebring Express lined up at Gosford today in race 8 over 1100m. Coming of a convincing first up win 2 weeks ago, the 4YO Sebring mare was looking to make it two from two this preparation.

Partnered once again by Tye Angland, Sebring Express drew wide and settled toward the back of the field. Moving up 200m before the bend in a 3 wide position, Sebring Express looked to be traveling comfortably. As she did at her previous start, she showed a sharp turn of foot, sweeping up into the lead and eventually winning well by a length.

“She has had issues, pelvic problems in particular”, said Gary Portelli after the race. “Now these issues seem to have settled down and she is racing well. We were keen on her chances today”. Tye Angland went on to comment that “she won well and has improved since her first up run. She didn’t like the rain affected ground but she got through it. She is more affective on top of the ground”.

Sebring Express was purchased by Elite Thoroughbreds from the Inglis Premier sale for $60k and was syndicated among current & past Elite owners. She has now won 4 races and $114,000 in prizemoney to date. Congratulations goes out to our owners and the team at Portelli Racing who have this mare ‘flying’ at the moment.
