After winning his maiden at Gosford by more than 3 lengths, Sebring gelding Rubino Veloce looked to have a bright future.
However, the preparation that followed didn’t see him return as expected. So, to his owners disappointment, he was spelled with view to starting from scratch and hoping, that this once promising galloper would find his form.
A good spell and few changes to his work at home had seen the Rubino of old return, running 3 placings from his first 4 starts this preparation, followed by 2 wins on the trot.
His most recent victory had seen him 2nd last at the turn with 61kg on his back. Jockey Greg Ryan was very impressed with the effort declaring that he has ‘plenty left’ and will win more races.
Rubino will be looking to make it 3 wins in a row next start before heading to the paddock for a well deserved spell.
Congratulations to all of his deserving owners. Patience has certainly paid of in this case and we look forward to watching Rubino Veloce continue to progress through the grades next preparation.
