Dissident is a five time Group 1 winning son of the 2008 Golden Slipper winner & champion 2YO, Sebring. He was brilliant as a 2YO winning the Blue Diamond Prelude on debut, and was better at three when winning his first Group 1 in the Randwick Guinness. It was as a 4YO that Dissident really came into his own having won four Group 1 races and securing horse of the year honours. His victories that season include the Group 1 Orr Stakes and the time honoured All Ages Stakes!
Denman mare Vintage Valley, is a well related daughter of the Stakes placed Napa Sky. She hails from one of the best families in the stud book, being closely related to Group 1 sprinter Lankan Rupee, Australian Derby winner Tavago & Stakes winner Shadea, who is more so known as the dam of high class racehorse and stallion, Lonhro.
Sledmere Stud have bred and sold Group winning horses such as Gold Fever, Invincibella, Pane in the Glass & Politeness.
Current Status: Currently in work. Will spend a week in pre-training before heading out to the Warwick Farm stables!

Comments: 'Such a great example of these nice Dissidents we see. He has a great walk, covering the ground effortlessly, he uses himself extremely well and moves ever so fluently. He is just such a lovely, well put together colt out of a very good female family, Gary Portelli went onto comment that he is a prime example of the exceptional Dissidents we have seen at the sales - he walks with real purpose and is by a stallion who we will be seeing great things from over the next 12 months!'
He will be trained by Golden Slipper winning trainer Gary Portelli. Pre-sale x-rays and scope were performed by Dr. Brett Warren. This colt was found to be low-risk. A vet report has been included in the PDS.
